Help Upgrade the Webcam
The Current Hermosawave Live Webcam has been up on Hennessey’s roof for more than eight years and the camera, lens, enclosure and mounting are all ready for replacement.
The Hermosawave webcam is a special camera, designed for outdoor use, with a built-in web server and a network jack on the back. Expensive, but perfect for this location.
But the camera doesn't support many real-time users and crashes all the time as a result, the lens doesn't get that clean and cannot stream the large images to our broadband internet connections.
Google ads pay for the $100 monthly internet bill, but cannot pay the estimated $1500 it will cost for a new, higher-resolution camera and outdoor enclosure.
Thanks again to Hennessey’s Tavern for graciously allowing me to place the camera on their roof.
New Website Launch: Ted Tokio Tanaka Architects
I’m launching another new website today, for Los Angeles architect Ted Tokio Tanaka.
Ted is probably best known for the LAXperience, the colored light towers at Los Angeles International Airport, but his firm has done quite a bit of other work at LAX as well. One of his newest public projects is the Little Tokyo/Arts District station for the Metro Gold Line.
This is a reworking of a site I built for them in 2006, all in Flash, and makes extensive use of the great components from SlideShowPro.
The opening features music by South Bay local David Benoit, and they collaborated on a video about the LAXperience which is also on the site.
